Opening times:

March 15th  until October 14th: daily between 8:30 - 18:00
Oktober 15th until March 14th: daily between 8:30 - 16:30

The museums, archive and library are closed on Mondays, but the open air exhibition „Murder and massmurder in Sachsenhausen concentration camp“, the „station Z“ memorial, as well as the visitor's information centre, remain open.

Please note, that dogs are not permitted within the memorial grounds.

Entry is free.

Guided tours

The price of guided tours is €15 for up to 15 people, and €25 for up to 30 people. Groups should not consist of more than 30 people, if they are to be of a responsible, educational size. Tours in foreign languages incur an extra charge of €25 per group. Themed tours cost €3 or €2 (discounted).

How to reach us (From the cente of Berlin)

By train:

Take the S1 (S-bahn Wannsee to Oranienburg) until Oranienburg station. This is the last stop and the journey takes around 45 minutes from Berlin-Friedrichstraße station. Trains leave every 20 minutes.

Take the regional train RE 5 (Regionalbahn 5) from Berlin-Hauptbahnhof towards Stralsund/Rostock, alight at Oranienburg station. Journey time is around 25 minutes from Berlin-Hauptbahnhof, with one train an hour.

Take the regional train RB 12 (Regionalbahn 12), from Berlin-Lichtenberg towards Templin, until Oranienburg station. The journey takes around 25 minutes, with one train an hour.

From Berlin-Hauptbahnhof and Berlin-Friedrichstraße you will need an „ABC“ ticket, and from Berlin-Lichtenberg a ticket covering zones "BC".

Bus line 804 (hourly, 8:22 etc., direction „Malz“) and bus line 821 (12, 2, 3, 5 pm, direction „Tiergarten“) to the Sachsenhausen memorial. The bus stops at Willy-Brandt-Straße, just across Oranienburg train station.

Following the signs to the memorial by foot, takes around 20 minutes.

By car/ coach
Take the city motorway (A111) and drive towards Hamburg. When you arrive at Oranienburger Kreuz, take the A10 (Berliner Ring) towards Prenzlau. Take the Birkenwalder exit and drive along the B96 until you reach Oranienburg. Follow the signs marked 'Gedenkstätte' to the memorial.

How to reach us (from Berlin city centre)

By Train:
