Presentation of the project "We intervene! Critical perspectives on the 'Sinti and Roma' exhibition at Sachsenhausen concentration camp"

14. April 2024 – 12:00 - 13:00 Uhr

At the invitation of the Sachsenhausen Memorial and the Educational Forum against Antigypsyism, we took a close look at the permanent exhibition “Sinti and Roma in Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp” that opened in 2004. We are activists, academics and political educators – people from the Sinti* and Roma* communities as well as from the “dominant society”. What unites us all is the fact that we do educational work on antigypsyism – i.e. racism against the Sinti* and Roma*.

With our intervention, we are actively engaging with the exhibition. The focus here is on our reflections regarding how to deal with
racist language and problematic exhibits as well as the visualisation of the fight against antigypsyism by civil rights activists after 1945.

The flyer with all the information is available here.

Please note: On the anniversary weekend, there will be restrictions in the RE5 transport service. DB is organising a rail replacement service with buses. Please check your connection before departure in Berlin.
